I came to know Jesus as my personal Savior in 1980 during my time as a student in Secondary School. It became clear to me that what I had called salvation was not true. I thought being born into a Christian family and going to church was salvation. I now have confessed Jesus as my Savior and have eternal life. It was my call to the ministry that I struggled with. I did not want to be a full-time pastor and it took me 10 years to accept that call into that ministry. In 1990, God made it very plain to me that He wanted me to serve Him in this way. I went for Bible training and now serve as a minister of His Word.
Much of my work is with children who are street orphans. Many have lost their parents due to AIDS. I also am a part-time teacher at Aheru Bible Training Center. I have trained nine men to be pastors and have started six churches. Over 300 have been led to the Lord under my ministry with 123 being baptized.
My wife, Eunice, is a born again committed Christian. She has been a great help to me and a supported me when I told her of my call to be a pastor and my need to go to Bible training school. I thank God for her willingness and readiness that made it possible for us to be effective in the ministry. We have adopted my brother’s three children when he was killed in a terrible accident and their mother died in childbirth. She is a good mother to all the children.
We live in a traditional mud-walled, grass-thatched roof home with two rooms. Our favorite foods include ugali (ground corn), fish, sweet potatoes and rice. I am a member of the Luo tribe. I am unable to grow very much of our food because the ground is so infertile, so I must purchase it at the market.
Please pray for me and my family as we serve the Lord in Kenya. Pray for the orphan children I work with, because they especially need your love and prayers. Pray, also, for a sponsor for us to help us through their prayers and financial assistance as we serve the Lord to the best of our ability.
